The other form of this line of treatment is orally taken to reduce the production of oil secretion from the glands dramatically.  The sub products are isotretinoin, commonly branded as Accutane.  The treatment is taken for up to six months to get the pronounced result.  This method is popular to have 80% effectiveness and guarantees to clear acne permanently.

The medicine has to be closely monitored by a doctor to check the adverse side effects especially to the liver.  If adult acne is the priority, then the side effect of the treatment has to be tolerated until the schedule of first batch of treatment is exhausted.  Then the body must recover before the next completion of the medication takes place.

HORMONAL PREPARATIONS

For women, prescribing drugs directly affecting hormonal activity work well to cure acne.  Cyproterone with the combination of anti-testosterone and estrogen works well to prevent androgenic hormone from rising in the blood tests.  This hormonal medicine is known for the brand name Diane-35.

Currently this drug is not commercially available in the US.  This preparation takes time to get result, usually, after 3 months of continues use, plus some amount of side effects to live with.

Cortisone is a steroid injected directly to large adult acne to flatten it immediately. This can be covered with make-up and can be concealed perfectly.
