Causes Of Acne

The human body can succumb to various diseases in one lifetime. This can be as basic as the common cold to something more serious such as cancer.

Some of these sicknesses can be seen externally while the rest are internal. Though modern medicine has improved through the years, some of these diseases have been eradicated while others are still being studied in laboratories for a cure to be found.

A skin disorder is an example of something that can happen internally in a person. This is because it affects the skin’s oil glands. If people are not able to wash properly and germs stick to the pores, pimples develop.

Pimples could be a phase or it can get worse. This can sometimes lead to acne, which happens to teens. A recent study has concluded that it can also happen again when the person reaches adulthood.

The same study shows there are more than 17 million Americans who have this skin disorder. The good news is that most of this will disappear by the time the individual reaches the age of 30. The concern for those who are affected is to prevent scarring which becomes permanent.

So, what causes acne? Doctors have not yet pinpointed the exact but have reason to believe that there are a lot of things involved which are the following;

1. When the females reach the age of puberty, the hormones are very effective so the oil glands plug more frequently. This can be from sports and other activities, which the individual does as a teen.

2. When the woman is pregnant, some changes are evident in the body. This can also cause pimples to break out and cause acne.

3. Those who are sexually activity and change from one brand of birth pills to another can cause acne. Certain medicines aside from these contraceptives may also be the reason that this is happening to the individual.

4. Some studies suggest that acne is heredity. If mom or dad had this, there is a very big chance this will also happen to the children.

5. Eating spicy foods or other ingredients, which the person is sensitive to, may cause acne.

6. The same effect goes to oil based beauty products, especially for those who have delicate skin.

7. The environment can also play a factor in causing this skin disorder especially if the person lives in a polluted environment and has to face the smoke from vehicles and factories everyday.

Acne is a treatable skin disorder even if there are a lot of causes. The various products in the market such as those derived form natural ingredients, water based beauty products, medication and surgery can help the person get rid of this problem.

It is best to consult with a dermatologist first because doing this without any help through a hit or miss process takes a longer time for the patient to recover.

The doctor can only recommend proper treatment after conducting some tests. When medication has been prescribed, the individual has to be patient because this usually takes two to three months to see the results.

When acne has disappeared, prevention is the best way to make sure it will not happen again. The person should clean the face and the body using soap, cleansers and moisturizers after waking up in the morning and before going to bed.
