Treat Insect Bites With All-Natural Children's Skin Care Products

Children explore the world on their own, in their quest for understanding the things around them better. They go through every nook or cranny, climb trees and stop only when they get themselves hurt. It is inevitable for these kids to get a few scrapes, bruises and insect bites along the way.  And when the kid is stung by a bee for example,  mom is sure to be ready with children's skin care products, especially those that are made to specifically treat the irritation.

Insect bites are the most common skin irritation in kids who are especially active outdoors. There are a lot of critters out there and it can not be avoided for kids to get bitten once in a while. Some bites or stings may be dangerous for kids, especially for those who have severe allergic reactions to insect bites, so we must be really careful about these.

Children's skin care products may offer help, but they could sometimes be more harmful that helpful. With this in mind, our safest option is to go for baby skin care the organic way. Use natural oils and ingredients as remedies, rather than synthetic ingredients that are harmful to young skin.

For spider bites for example, Basil oil is a good remedy. Just put 2-3 drops of this oil on the infected area and cover with a bandaid. Basil oil offers a natural way of treating irritations and infections. It is an effective anti-venom, antidepressant and insecticide – to name a few. It can treat insect bites by neutralizing the toxins that have infected the skin due to the bite.

Aloe vera is another plant that you can use for treating those pesky insect bites. This has been an age-old remedy for a lot of skin irritations. It offers soothing relief for a bite, and aids in the healing process. All you have to do is rub aloe vera on the infected skin. You'll be surprised how effective this organic remedy is.

Instead of using repellent lotions for shooing away those pesky mosquitoes and other bugs, use Citronella oil instead. It contains an insect repelling property – natural pyrethrin. Aside from insect bites, citronella oil is also an effective antiseptic, deodorant, tonic and stimulant.

Tea tree oil is another organic product that is gaining popularity, especially as natural organic baby products. Skin care products using tea tree oil are good for treating skin irritations, especially those caused by micro-organisms, including acne, herpes, fungus and insect bites.

Plantain leaves can work more magic than the usual children's skin care products. A poultice made out of chewed plantain leaves can be applied directly to the infected area. After a few minutes, the irritation will be gone like  magic. Crushed garlic cloves can work the same way too.

Honey isn't just a sweet treat for your taste buds, it can be an organic skin care remedy too, specifically for insect bites. Put a small amount of honey onto a clean piece of cloth and add in an ice cube. Wrap them up with the cloth and place directly on the affected area.

These are just some of the organic remedies you can provide for those pesky skin irritations on your kid's young skin. With all these available just around your house, you save yourself from the possible dangers of constantly using those children's skin care products right off the supermarket shelves.
