It would make sense that the products you use to keep your skin clear and healthy would be nontoxic.  After all, if you’re putting a bunch of toxins on your skin it would seem like that would defeat the purpose of skin care.  However, you might be surprised at how difficult it can be to find a good nontoxic skin care product.  Here are a couple things to keep in mind when you’re looking for the product that is right for you.

For whatever reasons, drug store chains tend to offer products that contain chemicals and toxins.  When you’re looking for a nontoxic skin care product, the biggest favor you can do yourself is get out of your local Osco or CVS and start looking into other possibilities.

You might also try looking for nontoxic skin care products online.  Just do a simple search for “nontoxic skin care” on Google or eBay and you’ll find dozens of different possibilities.  The good news is that these products are plentiful online.  The bad news is that you have to pay for shipping (sometimes just as expensive as the product) and you might not have any consumer experience comments regarding the product.

Cost-Benefit Ratio

A lot of people get turned off to nontoxic skin care when they realize how expensive it can be compared to getting the off-brand cleanser on the shelf at their local pharmacy.  It’s true, nontoxic skin care can be a more expensive option, but consider your alternative: toxic skin care.  The extra money you spend for your nontoxic products will be well worth it.  You’ll certainly find that the benefits outweigh the costs when your skin is feeling clear and healthy after a few weeks of changing products.

Also, for every person who buys nontoxic skin care, the products are that much closer to being conveniently and cheaply carried in your local pharmacy chain.  The only reason they are not carried by the chains is because they aren’t profitable; not enough people purchase them.  If it became clear to pharmacies that it would be profitable to carry lines of nontoxic skin care, they would certain start carrying them.  Do your part: go out and get some nontoxic skin care products today.  Your skin will love you for it.
